Nordic Workshop in Power System Protection and Control
Organization
The 2019 annual Nordic Workshop in Power System Protection and Control is the fourth workshop in the series. The event takes place on Monday 13 May 2019 at the University of Vaasa.
The first two events in 2016 and 2017 were organized at NTNU, within the ProSmart project.
Their programs and presentations can be seen here: 2016 & 2017.
The third event was organized by KTH, and the program and presentations can be seen here: 2018.
Scope and Audience
The Workshop language is English. Workshop and evening dinner are free of charge. Industry and university participants from within and beyond the Nordic countries are welcome. University groups are introduced in overview, and technical presentations are made of specific projects to highlight the research activities and recent results. Presentations from industry may focus on a specific technical solution, a challenge in need of further work, or a more general overview of needs and development in the coming years.
The general aim is to create a meeting place for Nordic PhD or MSc students, research groups, industry and utilities within power system protection and control. The Workshop enables wider collaboration, new research initiatives and provides useful contacts.
The input from industry is helpful to university groups in getting insight into present practical issues and useful research areas. University groups with shared or complementary interests get in contact with each other, even between countries, which enables new possibilities for cooperation relating to research and education. Industry participants may identify university projects of interest to them, or meet useful contacts from other companies. For participating students the Workshop provides new knowledge of the subject area as well as new possibilities for their career paths or further studies.
