Ph.D., M.Sc., Docent/Adjunct Professor, university lecturer. I also work as a senior researcher and lecturer at Tampere University. My expertise areas are vocology and vocal nonverbal communication. My recent research themes are vocal expressions of emotions, voice quality, cross-cultural differences in the perception of emotions from speaking voice, emotion perception by people with hearing impairment, and the profession of news anchors on TV and radio. I have previously worked as a public communicator at Tampere Art Museum and as a research journalist at the national Finnish Broadcasting Company Yle.
