Paper Submission and Presentation

If you need help with submitting the paper, kindly have a look for the basic guidelines here. The confirmation of your paper submission will be sent to you by email within 24 hours from your submission. In case of any questions you can contact the conference organization at ibconference@univaasa.fi.

CONFERENCE

Paper instructions and deadlines. Participants are kindly invited to submit both competitive papers and work in progress (WIP) papers.

In response to some requests, the deadline of paper submission for the Vaasa IB Conference 2019 has been extended. Extended deadline: June 7, 2019.

NB! Kindly send your paper abstract, hopefully an extended abstract, as soon as possible.

Kindly select the session to which you mainly target your paper. Information about acceptance will be sent by June 20, 2019.

The length of the papers should not exceed 25 pages including references, tables, appendices etc. Please, use font Times New Roman 12, double line spacing, and 25mm margin on all sites. We use double-blind review in our conference so all the submitted conference papers must be anonymous.

The accepted conference papers will be available online, the link will be sent to all participants. If you wish you can send an updated version of your paper for this. These final updated versions of the conference papers (both for competitive and WIP papers) must be delivered at the latest by August 5, 2019.

Instructions for presentation.

Three paper session: Each paper will have in total of 30 minutes, out of which author(s) will have 15 minutes for presentation and the remaining 15 minutes is for general discussion.

Four paper session: Each paper will have in total of 22 minutes, out of which author(s) will have 12 minutes for presentation and the remaining 10 minutes is for general discussion.

Please, bring your presentation with you on a usb flash drive and save your presentation on the computer at the classroom before the beginning of the session in order to help the schedule move on without any bigger delays.

DOCTORAL TUTORIAL

Paper instructions and deadlines. The doctoral tutorial begins on August 19, 2019 at 9.00 and ends on the same day at 17.00. The deadline for submitting at least a three-page outline (preferably 10-20 page version) is May 17, 2019.

The submission for the doctoral tutorial should include the following (all in one PDF-file):

  • Title Page
  • Short abstract
  • Keywords
  • Main text
  • References

The title page should include following information:

  • Title of the work
  • Name of author
  • Title of the author
  • Starting date of doctoral studies
  • Present situation of the studies
  • Affiliation
  • Supervisor(s) of the dissertation

The length of the short abstract should be 300-500 words, font Times New Roman 12 and line spacing 1.15.

Include 5 keywords.

The main text should be written in font Times New Roman 12 and line spacing 1.15. The length of the papers should not exceed 20 pages including references, tables, appendices, etc.

There will be an award for the best doctoral research proposal/paper.

Each paper will have in total of 45 minutes. Author will have 15 minutes for presentation, discussants will have 20 minutes for comments and the remaining 10 minutes is for general discussion.
