Saara Hämäläinen is an assistant professor in Economics at University of Vaasa. She received her doctorate in Economics at University of Helsinki in 2015 where she has taught industrial economics in the past few years. She has also organized the Applied Microeconomics Seminar at Helsinki GSE for three years and been the member of the board of the Finnish Economic Association.
Her research interests are related to economics of information and competition and, generally, markets with frictions such as over-the-counter markets for various assets and digital markets. She has been newly hired to the Horizon 2020 project Globalinto , which studies the effects of intangibles like R&D, ICT, advertizing and management on economic welfare and market dynamics.
Recently, her research has been published in the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.
