Right to Study

Master's Degree Students

Degree students are granted a study right only for a certain degree or programme. Students have the right to take courses included in their own study programme.

It may be possible to take some courses outside the programme curriculum, but some courses may have limited number of seats available. The school or teacher concerned has the right to choose the students who are given priority to attend the course. This applies also to taking courses from other programmes of the university. Some of the courses are not available for all students, but seats are reserved only for the students of a specific programme. Information about possible limitations is available in the course descriptions.

It is not advisable to take too many courses outside your study programme, because this will affect the completion and duration of studies. However, students are encouraged to take studies in the Finnish or Swedish language aside the programme courses.
