Summer studies

Students can promote their study progress by summer studies. The summer exam day on 27.6.2020 has been cancelled due to the continuing severe pandemic situation and risks associated with organizing public events.

Degree students can apply for course fee compensation for studies at Vaasa Open University, Vaasa Summer University or other educational institutions that offer university level studies if the studies promote graduation and fit well to the University’s education profile. Application for compensation has to be submitted before the planned studies start. More information can be found on the website Completing Courses Outside the University.

Open University courses offered free of charge for degree students 23.3.–31.7.

Finnish Open Universities offer courses for degree students free of charge during 23.3.–31.7.2020. You can access the course portfolio on the website Open University Studies (University of Jyväskylä).

Each Open University unit in in charge of its own registration systems and other practicalities. Some courses have restricted number of participants. If you have questions about the courses, please contact directly the study services of the respective Open University unit.

Please remember to check the course compensation with your programme specific study counselor before taking studies at other universities.

Summer schools

University of Vaasa supports exchange studies at summer schools of the University’s partner universities. Summer schools are a very good opportunity for students who are not able to stay abroad for a whole semester/academic year.
