The Study Psychologist


The study psychologist is specialised in the psychology of learning, counselling and advising. The psychologist is a licensed health care professional, and the counselling is confidential. The study psychologist works to enhance motivation, time management, the progression of studies and overall well-being.

Each student is allocated 1-5 visits. The discussions are confidential and last approximately 45 minutes. In addition, students have the possibility of participating in groups led by the study psychologist. The study psychologist’s services are available for all degree students.

When to contact the study psychologist


The counseling focuses on difficulties with progressing in the studies such as:

  • Issues related to motivation
  • Anxiety (e.g. performance anxiety or participating in group work)
  • Stress management
  • Time management
  • Study techniques and strategies
  • Difficulties in the writing processes
  • Returning to study after a longer break
  • Strength and energy

The student and the psychologist strive to find solutions together, develop study skills, increase functionality and develop new ways of thinking and acting thus enhancing the conditions of studying.
