Erasmus+ for higher education aims to modernise and improve higher education across Europe and the rest of the world. It gives students and staff opportunities to develop their skills and boost their employment prospectives as well as exchange of good practices between universities and businessess.


Nordplus is the Nordic Council of Ministers' most important programme in the area of lifelong learning. It aims are to strengthen Nordic educational cooperation, lifelong learning and to promote Nordic languages and culture.


The Magna Charta Observatory of Fundamental University Values and Rights is a non-profit organization, which aims to gather information, express opinions and prepare documents relating to the respect for, and protection of, the fundamental university values and rights.


The European University Association (EUA) is the largest and most comprehensive organisation representing universities in Europe. As the voice of Europe’s universities EUA supports and takes forward the interests of individual institutions and the higher education sector as a whole.


The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) is an international membership organization, which acts as a catalyst to promote and enhance excellence in management development internationally. A unique forum for information, research, networking and debate on innovation and best practice in management development. In 2010 the University of Vaasa acquired its first three year EPAS accreditation for the Master's Degree Progamme in International Business (MIB) programme, which was then reaccredited in 2013 with an another programme, the Master's Degree Progamme in Finance.


The Academic Cooperation Association (ACA) is a dynamic think tank in the area of international cooperation in higher education. Its goal is to promote innovation and internationalisation of European higher education while maintaining a global outreach.


The International Association of Universities (IAU) is the UNESCO-based worldwide association of higher education institutions. It brings together institutions and organisations from some 120 countries for reflection and action on common concerns and collaborates with various international, regional and national bodies active in higher education.


OECD Higher Education Programme (IMHE) has established a permanent forum in which education professionals can exchange experiences and benefit from shared reflection, thought and analysis in order to address the issues that concern them.


U-Multirank is a new multidimensional world ranking of universities and colleges funded by the european commission. It covers research, teaching and learning, international orientation, knowledge transfer and regional engagament. U-Multirank is an independent ranking, with financial support in its initial years from the European Union. The ranking includes information on more than 850 higher education institutions, 1 200 faculties and 5 000 study programmes from 70 countries.


The Finnish Higher Education Evaluation Council (FINHEEC) is an independent expert body assisting universities, universities of applied sciences, and the Ministry of Education and Culture in matters relating to evaluation, and thus contributes to improving the quality of higher education. FINHEEC is a member in several international evaluation organisations, like the NOQA (Nordic Quality Assurance Network in Higher Education), ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) and the INQAAHE (International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education). The University of Vaasa's last audit in 2012 is valid for six years.

The "HR Excellence in Research" logo gives public recognition to research institutions that have made progress in aligning their human resource policies with the principles set out in the "European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers". Institutions that have been awarded the right to use the logo can use it to highlight their commitment to implement fair and transparent recruitment and appraisal procedures for researchers.
