Accessibility report

Accessibility means that web pages and mobile applications as well as their content are designed and created in such a way that they can be used and understood by everyone.

The University of Vaasa web pages are obligated to comply with the Finnish digital services law, which is based on the EU's accessibility directive. According to the law, all users must have equal opportunities in the use of digital services.

The website was published on January 26th 2018 and therefore must comply with the AA level of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines by September 23rd 2020.

Improving accessibility

We want to improve the accessibility and understandability of the University of Vaasa web pages so we can provide the best possible experience and equal opportunities for all those who use our services.

We are continuing our website and content management system renewal through 2019 and 2020, which is essential to the accessibility of our web pages. We are using accessibility evaluation applications as well as expert evaluations to identify accessibility problems on the web pages.
