Economics

Economics is a cumulative science, the result of decades of expertise in economic theory. The other branches of business economics and the teaching of related finance and banking theory have branched out from economics and are closely tied to finance. Economics overlaps with business law and the Law and Economics route is an independent, economics-focused branch of research.

Enthusiasm for studying the Finnish and global economies connects the staff and students of this innovative subject. Our subject is taught by two professors, two university lecturers and numerous researchers. Our economics researchers are international leaders in the study of intellectual capital and intangible assets. They are inspired by numerous projects funded by the European Union, such as Innodrive. During recent years the branch has also published numerous studies on banking.

Our subject is located in the university's main building, the Tervahovi. Our offices are located at the end of the main corridor at the second floor of the building.
