It includes the processes of reporting, analyzing and utilizing financial information in management and decision-making. Accounting is an essential part of the firms’ measurement, information and reporting systems. Hence, accounting collects, analyzes and reports financial information. The information that accounting provides is usually financial, but increasingly, also non-financial by nature.

The value of accounting is significant for enterprise resource planning, decision-making, and stakeholder communications. Accounting professionals produce and utilize financial information, and for instance, corporate executives, analysts and investors are using it in decision-making and management. Accounting is the system and the language that everyone working in business should know to some extent. Communication, guidance and control in firms are largely based on accounting information. The facilities of accounting are located in the seaside of Tervahovi, 3rd floor. The staff consists of two accounting specialized professors, one associate professor, two university lecturers, lecturer, assistant professor, university teacher and other researchers and teachers.
